Anabolic Steroids Ok In Moderation

Wow! Can you trust what you're hearing about anabolic steroids right now? It's generating quite a commotion, but not always for the right reasons. Let's take a minute to explore what makes these performance enhancers so popular, other than the fact that individuals are "cheating."

Let's first debate if this is really cheating, or at least attempt to obtain perspective on it. To do so, we must first understand what we are discussing. Anabolic means "building up" (rather than catabolic which means to tear apart or break down). Steroids are a sort of substance present in the body that acts as a hormone and controls DNA synthesis by entering the nucleus and attaching themselves to various elements of the machinery that makes DNA. So anabolic steroids are just chemicals that go to muscle and other tissues to grow them up.

Essentially, they are merely enhancing an existing natural process that occurs in all of our bodies. Those with naturally higher levels of these hormones will have inherently larger muscles as well as more potential if they train them. So, is it truly a talent that goes into being extremely strong, or is it a crap shoot? I, for one, prefer the latter and, as a result, do not consider it cheating so much as augmenting someone's natural aptitude in a sport. My reasoning is based on two major factors. To begin, you must still work hard to build muscle while using steroids. To be a good hitter, you must first be able to swing a bat and choose the appropriate pitch. In both circumstances, you are just using a "tool" to maximize your potential, similar to how eyeglasses assist you to see a fly ball in the outfield but do not catch the ball for you.

You may be shocked to learn that I believe anabolic steroids should not be authorized. But you must hear my reasoning—not because I believe it is cheating, but because it is harmful to the player's health. As you can see, these chemicals have an impact on more than just your muscles. They have an effect on your heart, increasing your chances of dying suddenly. They also cause your muscles to grow too large for your body to maintain, increasing your risk of the tendon, ligament, and bone damage. There are numerous other things that are negatively impacted as well, making these items completely unnecessary.
